Top 50 Parents on Pinterest 2012

Pinterest is the new mecca for us creative types. Love decorating? There are boards for that. Love books? You can showcase your favorites. Need style/fashion/life inspiration? You’ll find it all. Spending time on this site brings us back to the days of making collages and dream boards, and we’re not ashamed to say we’re obsessed. Whether you’re already pinning to win or haven’t taken the plunge yet, these 50 parents (see the full list here) will wow and entertain you with their boards — we know this because we follow them (and think you should too). When choosing our favorite 50 parents on Pinterest, we focused on the overall quality of their page, not solely on how many followers or boards they have. Are their boards engaging? Helpful? Unique? Like any major list, it was extremely difficult to narrow it down, so please, if we forgot someone you love please nominate him or her here. Happy Pinning! — Amy Levin-Epstein & Dara Pettinelli

The What’s What: From the inspiring “Self Improvement” to the helpful and clever “Let Me Be Your Phone-a-Friend” — where you’ll find tips on how to fix broken eye shadow and clear a drain without chemicals — Heather’s boards are … refreshing. (Hey, she says she’s “one of Oprah’s favorite things.”) Her pins are a collection of motivational and empowering finds mixed in with playfulness (“Party Time, Excellent”) from around the web. Reading her Pinterest page, you get the sense that Heather’s the type of friend who’s always supportive and ready for a laugh.

The Mama: Her blog, The Spohrs Are Multiplying, is a mom blog with a message: life goes on. We love Heather not only for her ability to share her story, laugh (and karaoke) through the very tough times she and her family has faced, but for her desire to help others. She started Friends of Maddie to aid other families have critically ill children, like her oldest daughter, in the NICU. You can also enjoy her entertaining insights on Babble at More Spohr.
