Make It And Love It | Ashley Johnston
- #3 Best DIY
The What’s What: It’s crafty (DIY his-and-hers aprons!), it’s foodie (brownie-covered Oreos!), and we love it! Make It and Love It lets moms find their über-crafty side with everyday items, whether it’s using freezer paper to create unique t-shirts or taking two old necklaces to make one gorgeous new accessory. The site also features the coolest projects, gorgeous photography, and even a Flikr account where readers can submit their own homemade specialties.
The Mama: Ashley Johnston originally created Make It and Love It as a private website – a way to share projects and crafty ideas with family and friends. A busy mom to two toddlers (who moonlight as her models), Ashley recently completed a move from Idaho to Georgia. She finds her inspirations in the world around her, from other moms on the street to features she sees in monthly magazines, and is always contemplating how to recreate what she sees simply and affordably. She even sells patterns and bags on Etsy!
