Salsa Pie | Caroline Urdaneta
The What’s What: Did you know you could use peppermint candies to make garlands for your Christmas tree? Neither did we, but that’s exactly the type of thing that crafty mom Caroline will teach you on her blog, Salsa Pie (and sister site How to Salsa Pie, which features all project instructions). Every day features a specific series, from Wednesday’s delectable-looking recipes to Friday’s unique “Scenes from Salsa Pie,” in which Caroline’s gorgeous children and photographic talent take center stage.
The Mama: Caroline Urdaneta, mom to four children, started Salsa Pie as a way to share creative ideas with the blogosphere. A self-taught blogger with a background in horticulture and art, Caroline uses the site to encourage her readers to find their own creativity. As she says in her FAQs: “Since this blog is all about inspiring others to be creative, I’d like you to see yourself in us.”
