Billionaire Divorcees: Just Sayin'

Is it me, or does Oracle CEO Larry Ellison look just a little bit like Dave Navarro?

I had a friend back in the day whose dad passed along this tidbit of advice: Son, it’s just as easy to fall in love with a rich woman as it is a poor one. Maybe even easier.

Of course, my friend always knew that his dad was just joking with his pithy little saying. Though, oddly, he really did wind up marrying an extremely wealthy woman. Oh. And he also ended up getting divorced from an extremely wealthy woman. At that point he became a millionaire divorcee. But he’s got nothing on the billionaire divorcees that the Huffington Post just detailed.

Well, they had some help. See, HuffPo combed the annual list of billionaires that Forbes puts out for the divorcees. They picked out the top ten, which, by default, makes these people the wealthiest divorcees on the planet.

So, if you’re single, and you happen to run into one of them, you might wanna put your best foot forward. After all, a wise man once told me, it’s just as easy to fall in love with a rich person as it is a poor one. Here are a few of the highlights:

Topping the list is Bernard Arnault, clocking in at a whopping $41 billion. The Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy chairman has been married and divorced twice and has four kids. According to his biography, he eats breakfast with his two youngest sons every day.

Sheldon Adelson

Sheldon Adelson is fourth on the list at $23.3 billion. He’s the CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp and looks a little like Danny Bonaduce plus John Madden divided by two. I bet you’ll think he’s hot, anyway. After all, you’ll have $23.3 billion reasons.

But what about the ladies? Surely there are some divorcee billionaire ladies in the top 10, right? Right. But only one. Alice Walton, the heiress to the Walmart fortune. And she’s not only the richest female divorcee in the world but also the richest woman in the world.

Me? I’ll hold off, thank you very much. I’m all set with Caroline. But that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to read about these people. And there are seven more on the list that you need to check out. Swing by the Huffington Post to see who else made the list.
