Earlier this week the news leaked that the BlogHer ladies were launching a new, small “professional” blogger conference this December. As most attendees of the annual BlogHer conference know, the best attended sessions are often the ones in the professional track – hence this new conference.
On their website, BlogHer made the announcement: “After this year’s conference, we decided it was time to do a deeper dive and create a focused event for those community members who are making the most of their substantial online influence!”
The conference will be held very quickly – it’s planned for December 13th in San Francisco. It’s also a shorter conference; unlike the more well-known BlogHer conferences, BlogHer Pro will be just one day long. BlogHer goes on to say, “BlogHer PRO is the right event for any blogger or social media influencer leveraging their online platform for professional advancement.”
So, what do you think? Will you attend? Is a professional conference right for you? I’ve certainly heard plenty of longterm and knowledgable bloggers longing for something where they could gain new skills and learn more, so I’m not surprised that BlogHer has stepped up and made it happen. It sounds like it could be a great day. Will you go?
