Reports of gunfire on Friday night led to the discovery yesterday that two bullets had indeed hit the White House, cracking a window.
While the bullets that the Secret Service found are not yet determined to be from the gunfire heard, 21-year-old Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez has been linked to Friday’s gunfire, an abandoned vehicle nearby, and an assault rifle. He was taken into custody this afternoon.
Ortega-Hernandez had been reported missing by his family since October 31 and has an arrest record in three states. One bullet hit one of the residential window’s of the White House and was stopped by ballistic (bullet-proof) glass. It was not disclosed where the other bullet was found. President Obama and the First Lady were not at home at the time.
