Charming Cheerios Ad Features Interracial Family, Causes Stir

interracial family, cheerios ad, racism, racist comments, youtubeCheerios released an ad on YouTube Tuesday that has unfortunately brought out the most racist trolls on the Internet. The ad, below, features an interracial family, and the disgusting responses it elicited from bigots forced YouTube to shut the comments section down, according to The Root. While I think it’s sad that so many people are willing to express anonymous hate over an ad that shouldn’t be seen as progressive in a time when there are 4.8 million mixed-race marriages in the US (Seriously, “race” doesn’t even exist anymore, if it ever did. Spend a day in New York City and you will quickly realize that eventually all humans will be a lovely shade of brown.), I’m also not surprised, based on my own experience with racist trolls.

Enjoy this cute spot, reasonable people of the world. I laughed out loud at the end.
