Stan Lee Turns 90

While most of us are in a post holiday haze, taking a break from celebrating between Christmas and New Years, there is one who is celebrating another big day On December 28th, Stan Lee turns 90. The comic book legend has continued to pioneer his super hero creations throughout the decades; from the gigantic box office success of the Marvel’s The Avengers to his current project, his YouTube channel Stan Lee’s World of Heroes.

Stan Lee was born Stanley Lieber on on this day back in 1922. Stan Lee and his crew created some of the most important comic book characters ever such as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, the X-Men and many many more. There are generations of fans, from great-grandparents who may have been introduced to Stan Lee’s work from his first character the Destroyer in Mystic Comics (from 1941) to little kids who are just now— in 2012— getting into Thor, Iron Man and the Hulk.

Stan Lee turned his humble comic book company Marvel into a media powerhouse with TV shows, merchandise and, of course, the blockbuster movies. Yes, on his 90th birthday Stan Lee has plenty to celebrate.
