Crying Pays Off For NJ Boy As He Become Honorary Governor

New Jersey

A five-year-old ruled the Garden State on Wednesday thanks to some unintentionally strategic tears

Crime doesn’t pay, but apparently crying does. Just ask the kid who bawled in a YouTube video gone viral because he was too small to become governor of New Jersey.

Five-year-old Jesse Koczon of Old Bridge, NJ, sobbed on camera while riding in a car with his family, “Cause everyone tells me I’m too small to be the governor of New Jersey,” he said.

One very important person didn’t think he was too small, however.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a proclamation yesterday making Jesse honorary governor for the day. Not wanting to stoke the fire of sibling rivalry, Gov. Christie also made Jesse’s fraternal twin brother, Brandon, honorary lieutenant governor.

Garden State residents concerned about the qualifications of who was in control yesterday needn’t worry. In the YouTube video, Jesse’s mom asks him if he would wait until college to become governor and he replied, “I am already in college.”

“You already have the education to be the governor?” his mom responds

“Yes,” Jesse said.

So there you have it.
