Dad-To-Be Makes Breakfast Art for Bedridden Wife

Breakfast ArtI love this story!  Remember Adele Enersen, the mom who creates sweet, funny and sometimes elaborate scenes around her sleeping infant daughter using clothes and props to illustrate her dreams?  Well, we’ve got another artist in our midst!  Gat Sirivong has been designing delightful dining tableaus for his wife Shirley, who has to stay in bed for the rest of her pregnancy.  Because she has gestational diabetes, her menu is very limited, but Chef Gat (as Shirley lovingly calls him) has proven there are many ways to get creative with just eggs, veggies and toast.  Take a look:

As we all know, even the easiest, breeziest pregnancies make everyday tasks more difficult.  (Like getting a seat on the subway, for example.  I think pregnant women should start lapping riders that are sitting down!)  I consider myself lucky to have had a problem-free pregnancy, but I remember how hard it was just to get around or fall asleep at the end.  It’s so charming when men really try to involve themselves in those nine months, despite the suggestion that being involved in the pregnancy renders men inept at fatherhood.  Pish-posh, I say!  Little things mean a lot to a lady with a big belly, and Chef Gat’s morning gesture is no small one.  Congrats on snagging such a great guy, Shirley!  (Does he have a single brother?)
