Doh! Simpsons Land to Open at the Universal Orlando Resort

The Simpsons Ride 3 - LR

Doh! Now you’ll have another reason to visit Orlando, Florida besides visiting Disney World, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Sea World. Now the Simpsons will be luring visitors to the parks.

In the midst of the sprawling Universal Studios there will soon be a Simpson Land that is set to open this summer.

The “mega-attraction,” that will be the highlight of the land is The Simpsons Ride. The entire area of the Simpsons theme park will be designed to look just like the streets of Springfield along with a cast of characters from the Simpsons family to new to the park characters – Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Bob.

In the area there will be Fast Food Boulevard where visitors can dine at Krusty Burger, the Frying Dutchman, Luigi’s Pizza, Lard Lad (which features donuts), and one can even grab a drink at Moe’s Tavern. And yes, Moe’s Tavern will be selling Duff Beer, a ale that is being brewed just for Universal Orlando.

“This will be a must-see experience for Simpsons fans all over the world,” said Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative. “For the first time ever, they’re going to be able to enter a world that they’ve only seen on television and we’re really excited to bring that world to life.”

“Fans will literally be able to live and breathe Springfield as they visit the statue of Jebediah, enjoy a Krusty Burger, and have a seat at Moe’s Tavern,” said Jeffrey Godsick, President, Fox Consumer Products. “Which are just a few of the great experiences awaiting at Universal.”

Personally, I love the Simpsons, but it’s a show I haven’t shown by daughter yet since it’s a bit mature for her. I’m wondering if this land will be for an older demographic, more for the adults than the kids. Would your kids like or love a Simpsons land?
