Duggar Boys Help Save Girlatedaldi
John and Josh Duggar, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s eldest children, were involved in some unscripted drama when they came to the aid of a 6 year old girl, who was unconscious after a car accident.
The boys were in the office of the used-car dealership Josh runs in Springdale, Arkansas, when a three-car accident occurred just in front of the dealership.
Though the accident appeared to be just a fender-bender, the boys realized something was wrong when one of the cars pulled into the lot. 6-year-old Maddye Plascensia had been sitting in the front seat of a car driven by her grandmother, Glannetta Plascensia. The girl apparently was not wearing a seat belt, and hit the airbag. She was unconscious.
“This girl, just a few moments earlier, was just an ordinary little girl, and just a split second later she’s unconscious and not breathing,” John Duggar said to NBC News. Josh dialed 911, and with John, brought the girl into the dealership office. There, John, who is trained as a volunteer fireman, administered CPR while they awaited first responders.
When the Springdale Fire Department arrived and took over, John shot a cell-phone video, showing Josh assisting in the girl’s care by holding an IV bag.
Once Maddye was stabilized, she was airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. That hospital, in Little Rock, is the same one where the youngest Duggar, Josie, was born 15 weeks premature on December 10, and where she is still being cared for.
“I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe in divine intervention,” John said to NBC. “I believe God had us here at that time to help Maddye.”
