Elderly Couple Gives Neighbors a “Taste of Their Own Medicine” By Blasting Music

couple blasts heavy metalIf you’ve been fortunate enough to walk the planet for 7 or 8 decades then it is very likely that you’ve become well vested in how to deal with annoying neighbors. For some the solution is to turn the other cheek or perhaps filing a complaint with management does the trick. And then there are those who prefer to take matters into their own hands. This was the case for an elderly couple, a 71-year-old woman and 81-year-old man from Sweden. According to the Upprox article after dealing with a loud whistling noise coming from their neighbors house the couple decided to make their own form of noise. The two played an Iron Maiden song, blasting it until 4 am. Curious to know more about Iron Maiden I googled them and learned that they are a heavy metal band.

According to the Upprox article the police found “one music system on the balcony and another in the basement.” Both systems were facing the home of their neighbors. The article notes that the couple wanted to give the neighbors a “taste of their own medicine.” As a result of the incident the couple has been charged with harassment. What do you think about their attempt to give their neighbors a “taste of their own medicine?” Is the punishment for their action too harsh?
