Father's Mystery Internet Date Never ExistedDanielle
As if the story of the three missing little boys in Michigan hasn’t tugged on our heart strings enough already – police have now shared with the media they are no longer looking for a mysterious woman John Skelton met online. Investigators are now saying this woman, Joann Taylor, never existed, so the whereabouts of the boys remains a mystery while time has been wasted looking for a fake lead.
Morenci, Mich., Police Chief Larry Weeks said, “What I’m saying is a reported relationship between Mr. Skelton and Joann Taylor does not exist.”
Wendy Murphy, a former prosecutor, told CBS News, “We don’t know why he lied, but we’re certain that he lied, and when a father is not telling the truth to the cops about the disappearance of all of his children, that’s a good reason to be suspicious.”
This is also not the first time that John Skelton took the three children without permission. He previously took the boys all the way to Florida the day after his wife filed for divorce, and held the children in Florida until he was court ordered to return the children back to Michigan. In cases like this professionals say one parent will often take the children to try and get back at the other parent.
In the midst of this scary investigation, John Skelton has also been charged with kidnapping.
The whole story is so heartbreaking, all we can do is stay positive, and hope that these three boys are found safe and sound after this case the nation is watching.
