Fifty Shades of Grey

"Fifty Shades of Grey" will sex its way onto bookstore shelves in April

Move over Danielle Steel. There’s some new mommy porn, uh, coming to town. And by all accounts, it’s much, much dirtier.

E.L. James’ erotica trilogy, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is a series of books that follows the relationship between billionaire Christian Grey and college student Anastasia Steele, who he makes his submissive sex slave. More than a quarter of a million books of the first edition have already been sold, and it has topped the online bookselling charts at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, according to The Huffington Post.

Next months the books will be widely available in paperback (up until now paper copies of the book have been beyond scarce), thanks to a deal with Random House Inc.

The books have sold like hot cakes based on the word-of-mouth cult following of urban and suburban housewives, who refer to it simply as “The Book,” according to the New York Post.

The series was said to be inspired by the “Twilight” books and the relationship between Edward and Bella. Bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism are explored at length in all three “Fifty Shades” books.

It remains to be seen how well the book will sell in paper form because so many women enjoyed it on e-readers knowing they could read it furtively.

Have you read “Fifty Shades of Grey?” Will you?

“Captive Heart” by Marcy Gregg is not your usual romance. It is set in the early Mormon frontier town of Nauvoo, Illinois, where polygamous relationships, and arranged marriages are forcing Maggie McGregor to make a decision that drastically alters her life. There are strange plot twists and turns, and sizzling romance. It combines historical romance with suspenseful action and interesting early American history. It is an e-book available at Amazon or Barnes and Noble for only $2.99.
