Funny Video Friday: You're a Mean One, Newt Gingrich

newt gingrich, the grinch who stole christmas, how the grinch stole christmas, newt gingrich janitor comments, newt gingrich poor people

Actor Adam Kontras has been making video blogs since 1999 (woah!) and has had more than one viral success. His latest video, “You’re a Mean One, Newt Gingrich,” was created in response to Gingrich’s comments about poor children having no work ethic. Kontras says, “What I don’t think a lot of people get about these comments, is they show that Gingrich is 100% corporate. He’s been paid millions to lobby in their interest (or advise or whatever the hell he wants to call it) and if you listen closely to all his comments? They’re simply anti-union in ‘helping poor people’ clothing.” Interesting take. Kontras weaves Gingrich’s actual talking points in throughout this clever song parody, to chilling effect. (Kontras’ song is of coursed based on “You’re a Mean One, Mister Grinch” from How The Grinch Stole Christmas.)

As the Huffington Post notes, “With lines such as, “you’re a bad banana and cheat on your wife,” and “the three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote, ‘one. per. cent.,'” the clip is sure to put a smirk on your face.”
