George Zimmerman Arrested After Domestic DisputeMonica Bielanko
Well, well, well.
Karma is alive and well in the state of Florida. Too bad that the teenager whose life George Zimmerman ended is not.
Zimmerman, as everyone knows, killed Trayvon Martin but was acquitted of murdering the Florida teen earlier this year.
But it seems like karma is handling Zimmerman in much the same way it wiped its hands clean of OJ Simpson all those years ago.
George Zimmerman has been arrested “after deputies responded to a disturbance call,” the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
WESH-Channel 2 is reporting that law enforcement officials said the dispute involved his new girlfriend although it isn’t clear exactly what happened. The sheriff’s office said they will be releasing the arrest report and 911 call as soon as they are available.
Today’s incident is just Zimmerman’s latest run-in with the law. In September, he was released without charges after his estranged wife called 911 to say Zimmerman punched his father-in-law in the nose and threatened to shoot him and his wife.
And, according to Jezebel, Shellie Zimmerman also said that “once when he was mad at her, he nailed a bullseye riddled with bullet holes to her parents’ house. Zimmerman claimed that he was acting in a ‘defensive manner’ during the incident (sound familiar?) according to police, who later added that they never found a gun on Zimmerman.”
He has also been pulled over for speeding, once in July and once in September. During the July incident, he alerted the officer that he had a gun in his glove compartment.
Seriously. Arrested for incidents involving guns and violence mere months after being acquitted of murdering an innocent teen in a violent showdown with a gun? Stunning.
Karma is fascinating to note in cases like these. As mentioned, OJ certainly got what was coming to him after being acquitted of murdering his wife. Cosmic retribution, if you will, for his past sins. As many have noted, karma is universal law, which we can all agree trumps Florida law. Alleged sins, I better add considering that, unlike Zimmerman, OJ was acquitted.
So Casey Anthony is still in Florida, right? (*cough cough*)
UPDATE: According to CNN Zimmerman is now charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend. According to a police report, after an argument Zimmerman broke a table with a shotgun then pointed it at her “for a minute.” He’s being held without bail and will be in court tomorrow.
