Girl Bakes “I’m Gay” Cake for Parents, Comes Out with Pun in the Oven

i'm gay cake, girl comes out to parents baking a cake, teens coming out, coming out stories, how to tell your parents you're gay

Most delicious coming out ever!

This is definitely the best story you’re going to hear all week. (Yes, even better than Cool Ranch tacos.)

A girl named Laurel came out to her parents by baking them this cake, pictured left, with the following note:

Good morning parents,

I’m gay. I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time. I thought doing it this way would be a piece of cake. I hope you still love me. I mean, it’s hard not to love someone who baked you a cake.

All my friends know and still love me. Your acceptance would be the icing on the cake.

I hope you, much like this cake, are not in tiers.

I hope we can look back on this and say “Boy, this one really takes the cake.”

It gets better batter.

Love, Laurel (sorry for so many puns)

According to The Frisky, “the Laurel in question is Tumblr user Ellende-Generes and she says, “My mom saw it and cried of happiness. We hugged and cried together. Then we all ate the cake and talked.” A happy ending!”

I am overjoyed right now! This story is so sweet. I love that it’s sprinkled with meaning, but frothy like frosting. Wish I could slice this feeling up and serve it to everyone! Bundt I can’t.
