'Glasses for Noah' Facebook Page Helps Little Boy See His Awkward Glasses as Awesome

Glasses for Noah

How is this possibly not awesome?

Maybe glasses no longer have the stigma they once did — think nerds and geeks of yore such as Urkel and Woody Allen. After all, there are plenty of high profile glasses-wearers nowadays who are exactly the opposite — think Tina Fey and Johnny Depp.

But try telling a 4-year-old that wearing glasses isn’t the end of the world. Because when you’re 4 and you have to wear glasses, it can sure feel like the end of the world. When Noah Fisher, 4, found out he had to wear glasses, he worried other kids would make fun of him, according to Yahoo News. When you’re 4 and kids make fun of you? You might wish for the end of the world.

Noah’s mom Lindsey felt for him, so she started a Facebook page, Glasses for Noah, to prove to him that glasses can be cool. She asked people to upload pictures of themselves wearing glasses to the page and the response has been overwhelming — tons of pictures, well over 30,000 likes and countless warm, funny and supportive comments.

“Noah is LOVING them,” Lindsey wrote on the page. “Y’all are amazing and we would give each of you a hug if we could!!!”

According to Lindsey, Noah has stopped crying about wearing glasses and is enjoying his new-found, four-eyed confidence. In fact, he’s even happy about wearing them — because he can see better, and feel better about himself.
