Go the F to Sleep Author Pens Election Parody "Wake the F Up" to Rally Obama Supporters

wake up, wake the fuck up, wake the f up, go the f to sleep, go the fuck to sleep, obama 2012, election obama romney

Wake the F Up!

I love Adam Mansbach. As if his hit children’s book for adults Go the F to Sleep isn’t enough reason to adore the guy, he — like me — is a white boy who spits funky hip-hop and is a lefty leaning liberal lover of Obama. He’s put his gift for rhyme to good use again — along with his friendship with Samuel L. Jackson — to raise awareness about the upcoming election. His newest poem/video creation is called “Wake the F Up,” and it calls us exhausted parents to realize the urgency with which we need to start caring about the upcoming election.

Like the parents in this video, I too canvassed and called the first time around, knocking on doors and going on tour in support of Obama in 2008. But now I am tired from working so damn hard during this reccession! So I bought some funny campaign gear and donated $40 instead, but I plan to hold a voter registration drive/fundraising show in support of the campaign in a few weeks and will be on another one at The PIT on October 3rd. (Please come if you live in New York!) If you support Obama, what are you doing to help? (And if you support Romney, click here for proof that I am fair and balanced in my comedy/election coverage.)

Watch this video and see if it helps you Wake the F Up:
