Graco is recalling about 217,000 cribs over concerns that they could strangle, suffocate or trap an infant or toddler.
The recall focuses on drop-side wooden cribs manufactured by LaJobi. The cribs were sold under the Graco brand between February 2007 and now.
Faulty hardware on the cribs can cause the drop side to fall, potentially trapping, injuring or even killing a child. The company received about 99 complaints about the cribs. Two parents reported their children had been trapped by them, and were later freed by a caregiver.
If you have one of these cribs, stop using it for the moment. Then call LaJobi’s recall hotline at (888) 842-2215. They”ll send you a hardware retrofit kit to replace the faulty hardware with the good stuff.
This is Graco’s third recall this year. Earlier, they recalled millions of strollers and highchairs.
