I’ve got a great sense of humor, but I don’t think most pranks are funny – especially the kind that result in legitimate terror from the person being pranked. “Hey, your kid is missing. We’ve looked everywhere and we can’t find her. Seriously! No, just kidding.” Yeah, okay, psycho. No one should be expected to laugh at their concern when they’re being told something dire is happening. That’s why, after seeing the video below, all I could think was, “Oh my God, I hope this woman files for divorce.” Her husband, Manny Perez of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, decided to pull a prank so unthinkable it qualifies as truly horrific. Take a look, and then we’ll discuss:
Okay, so, let’s look at just the facts:
1.) Two kids in the car on the highway, driving at least 55 miles an hour, likely faster, and dude is filming himself. Perfect. Father of the year.
2.) Wife is sleeping. Jolted awake to think she’s dying. Terrified. Perfect. Husband of the year.
3.) Dude laughs at terrified wife and says, “I’m sorry, it was funny.” To who? To you. Just you. And could have resulted in the kind of car accident you were faking, you maniac.
Dear everyone: yes, we are surrounded by all kinds of technology now. That does not mean we should film ourselves, photograph ourselves or text while we are driving!
