Holiday Travel Delay? Best Airport Playgrounds for Travel with Kids
Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport has several Junior Flyer’s Club spots for smaller flyers.
It’s that time of year for holiday travel, and you know if there’s bad weather or any other cause for delay this Thanksgiving, you could get stuck at the airport for hours. It’s bad enough when you are by yourself, but if you’re traveling with your kids? Whining. Fidgeting. Crying. Total hell.
We thought you might like to know about some of the best airport playgrounds for kids, so you’ll know exactly where to find a fun diversion if you get caught in a travel nightmare.

O'Hare International Airport
ORD offers two great spots: Kids on the Fly, created by the Children's Museum of Chicago, is in Terminal 2 near gate F1. Play it Safe, created by the Chicago Fire Department, is in Terminal 5 near gate M12. Photo credit: MSNBC

Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport
DFW has several Junior Flyer's Club play areas. You can find one in Terminal B, near gate 12, and two in Terminal D near gates 10 and 30.

Boston Logan International Airport
If you're stuck in BOS, the place to be with kids is the airport's Kidport play areas. You can find them in Terminal A near gate 18 and also in Terminal C.

San Francisco International Airport

Other Airport Playgrounds
Other airports that have playgrounds include Phoenix Sky Harbor (Terminal 2 Gate 9 and Terminal 4 Gate B19), Portland (jungle gym between Terminals D and E), Cincinnati (Kidsport in Concourse A) and Denver (Concourse B). Sadly, some of the largest and busiest airports, like Atlanta Hartsfield and Newark Liberty International, don't have good offerings for children. I say they need to get on the ball!
