How I Will Stop Being An Overworked Creative

One of my main goals for 2012 is to stop feeling so constantly overworked. When I look at all that is on my plate, it’s completely manageable if I have myself together, but so much that it would all be a hot mess if I let one spinning plate drop.  Do you ever look at your work habits, see your creative madness, and wonder how you will ever get it all together?

This video is a great place to start. It’s Tony Schwartz talking about the main myth that an overworked creative tells themselves. It’s completely worth your time to hear what he has to say – the biggest epiphany he has to share is about rest.

Why rest is important, what real rest truly is, and how we are actually worse at our work, our craft, our creative mental space when we *don’t* take time to rest.

If you haven’t already, definitely take the few minutes out of your life it will take to watch this and see if it will change your life as it did mine!
