How My DVR Has Saved My Sanity

Thanks to DISH for sponsoring this post.

OH my beloved DVR.

Me and my Mr. are pretty close. And I don’t mean the husband. Mr. DVR and I have a pretty close relationship. A relationship that has completely saved me from freaking out when I realized I wasn’t going to be done working to catch the newest episode of The Voice, X Factor or Glee. Confession: I am a TV junkie. From reality TV to re-runs of Friends {even though I own them all on DVD} to everyday sitcoms. I love my television. But my love for Mr. DVR is beyond words. God forbid something happen to him, I would never be able to watch tv. Ever.  Let’s be honest. I have 5 littles, a full-time biz that I run, write for Babble and Disney Baby and the never-ending to-do well, never ends. That said, I can’t catch shows as they air. It’s impossible.

Having a DVR has saved my sanity because quite honestly, shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real Housewives and Duck Dynasty are all shows that I love to watch over and over so if I have a few episodes recorded that’s even better when it comes time to watch them. And also — I get interrupted often and if I have a show recorded I never have to worry about missing anything except the commercials because I fast forward those babies. I have to say, it comes in handy to for all my Littles’ shows because they have a few of their favorite and we are able to just watch those right off the DVR when we need to. LOVE that.

Currently, here is a rundown on just what is on my DVR: Glee, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Duck Dynasty, a few different HGTV shows that I love, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Voice, The X Factor, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Legally Blonde, every Friends episode that airs along with Full House and Saved by the Bell, Honey Boo Boo, and Dancing with the Stars.

The only problem I have with the DVR is — I don’t like to share. By the time I scheduled all of my shows, by the end of the month, they will hardly be any space left. My husband complains that he needs his own. I really have to delete quite often because well, I can’t miss a show! Thankfully, my DVR never lets me miss anything. Gotta love the dedication from my DVR to a tv-obsessed gal like myself.
