iPhone Apps Hall of Fame: What's Best For Moms?

By Sierra Black |

my favorite iphone apps

My favorite iPhone apps.

The first iPhone App Hall of Fame has been launched, with 12 apps making the first round of inductions. They’ll be doing a new set each month.

The first round of winners range from the nuts and bolts useful to the sublimely silly. With a Verizon iPhone on the horizon, even more of us will be adopting these devices soon.

Which of these apps are the most useful for moms? Evernote tops my list. It’s like an endless stack of infinitely large post-it notes. How could I not love that?

Other useful mom apps:

  • Twitter. Really, moms. We know you bought that iPhone just so you could Tweet in real-time from the playground. We all do it.
  • Pandora Radio. Never run out of music. For car trips with kids, Pandora is a lifesaver.
  • Angry Birds. What mom doesn’t sometimes need to blow up an entire castle? This is the perfect post-tantrum brain candy.

Want more great apps for moms? Babble’s got you covered with our Top 50 iPhone Apps For Moms.

Which apps do you want to see included in the next round? I’d go for Mint. A good personal finance tool is essential.

Far more than Mint, I like Pocket Money because it syncs with my desktop Quicken. I also recommend Pageonce Personal Assistant because it allows you to sync up a number of sites (utility companies, bank accounts, etc.) with much tougher encryption than usual and display your balances/bills owed. It’s a great way for me to check what’s cleared when I’m not near my personal computer without having to remember the one million different account numbers and codes banks give you.

One I found really useful is I Intuition (http://www.iconapps.com/) and it is free. You can’t go wrong with that. It is a task management app made for Moms! And what I love is the grocery listing… at times I really have blank ideas on what to buy but Intuition seems to have the eternal lists. I enjoy checking the to-buy items and adding some more.

Well, I think it should be a classic: Baby Birthday…
    (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/baby-birthday/id403863853?mt=8)
Works amazingly well and there is nothing out there like it.
Predicts exactly when to expect your baby’s birth. It calculates a customized date for you based on your prior history, medical complications, recent exams, and even barometric pressure!
More importantly, it provides an estimate of the chances of delivery in the next day, few days, week, two weeks, etc. so you can plan (when to stop working, when to have your mother-in-law come to help, etc.)…
A must for any mother who wonders when her baby (or babies) will be born!
