Could it be?
After years of being put in the corner by retailers like Walmart and Target, much like Baby from Dirty Dancing, Kmart is surprising the world with its hip moves.
Last month the retailer debuted its hilarious ‘Ship My Pants’ ad on YouTube. The premise: consumers who can’t find what they want in stores can ask Kmart employees to find the product on the company’s website and have it shipped for free. The commercial features shoppers of all ages voicing the expression ‘Ship My Pants!’ with abandon in a Kmart store. The video has been viewed more than 17 million views and made the jump to television.
Kmart took note and debuted a second commercial yesterday, just in time for Memorial Day. It’s another home run. The new catchphrase? ‘Big Gas Savings.’
Say that ten times fast. Or, for kicks, ask your toddler to do it for you. It’s funnier that way.
The big gas savings refers to Kmart’s Shop Your Way rewards program that offers 30 cents savings per gallon when at least $50 is spent at Kmart fuel pumps.
