The couple used this photo on Facebook to announce their news. “Marina’s cousin took this photo of a portion of a mural at Santa Monica High School. We’re still trying to figure out the artist’s name but we thought it was just right for this occasion.”

The couple whose two children were killed, allegedly by their nanny in their New York City apartment, has announced they’re expecting a baby boy.

Last October Kevin and Marina Krim’s daughter Lulu, 6 and son, Leo, 2, were stabbed to death as their mother was with a third child, 4-year-old Nessie, at a swimming lesson. Their nanny, 50-year-old Yoselyn Ortega, pleaded not guilty and was found fit for trial.

The Krim’s posted the joyous news on the Facebook account they have linked to the Lulu and Leo Fund website, which they started to remember the children.

We are very happy to let you know that Marina is expecting a baby in the fall. Nessie can’t wait to welcome her new baby brother. We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope.

In January the couple rented an RV and traveled the country with their daughter Nessie. They posted photos of their journey and shared photos and memories of Lulu and Leo along the way.

Our journey forced us to live in the present — we didn’t want to miss any part of the beautiful landscape going by out the window. We have a new appreciation for Santa Fe’s art and food, Oklahoma’s rolling hills, Asheville’s grand Biltmore, and Elvis Prestley (Graceland is a must see!). We bonded with our travel companions and most importantly made new unique family memories with Nessie.

Leo was on our mind as we drove through the Southwest — the huge red-rock landscape made the many freight trains look like his beloved multi-colored toys. We could hear Lulu giggling at the ducks marching through the lobby of the Peabody hotel in Memphis. We are thankful that Lulu and Leo gave us the strength and inspiration to take this trip.
