Kids' Book of the Week: Ladybug Girl Dresses Uptoddler-times
A literary superhero is back in board book form, and she’s mystifying little kids everywhere. After all, everyone knows Lulu as Ladybug Girl, the playground powerhouse who wears her speckled red boots everywhere.
But Ladybug Girl is trying out some other outfits in Ladybug Girl Dresses Up, the newest edition in the line of nature adventures from husband and wife team Jacky Davis (a former producer of the Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss) and David Soman.Indulging in dress up and imagination, Lulu tries them all – astronaut, pirate and even a tiger (it’s the right year, after all), but fans will be happy to know her wings won’t be hiding for long.
My daughter fell in love with Ladybug Girl when we discovered her last year, and I couldn’t deny her a book about a spunky girl who isn’t afraid of anything – least of all getting a little mud on those fun boots. Ladybug Girl has her own website now too – with games galore.
So check it out, and scoop up the new board book while you’re at it – just get your costumes ready.
