Little Girl Gets Lady Gaga's Attention with Born This Way Cover

Lady Gaga on GMA this morning in a condom-inspired outfit. (Click continue reading for more on her message of kids and safe sex.)

Let’s just call this the week of the 10-year-old.  First we were introduced to the soulful stylings of Heather Russell, and now – thanks to a tweet from Lady Gaga herself – this video of 10-year-old Miia Maria is making the rounds. Maria’s sound is also big and bluesy, but she seems to be using her voice in a less potentially damaging way than Russell.

Lady Gaga appeared on Good Morning America today in a “latex condom inspired outfit” to promote her MAC Viva Glam lip shades. 100% of the proceeds from the products are donated to the MAC AIDS Fund.  The pop star told Robin Roberts, “I want to get people started at home at a younger age with their children talking about HIV, talking about AIDS, talking about safe sex.  My mother talked to me about sex at a young age and she always taught me to be self-aware.   My first experience with my mother that I remember mostly was when she would put her lipstick on in the morning and she would talk to me about life.”

Gaga acknowledged that talking to children about sex can be difficult, but she says it’s the shame and stigma around sex that makes people not protect themselves.  The artist took time to mention that her new album “Born This Way is about self-love and the MAC AIDS Foundation is about self-love.”  Watch the entire interview, below.
