If women can cheat with push-up and padded bras, why can’t chubby men turn man boobs into pecs? Thanks to a British company, now they can. According to ABC News, “British company Funkybod has invented a push-up bra for man boobs.” The Funkybod undershirt is also meant to improve the wearer’s posture, according to the product site. “Our muscle enhancing top is a high quality garment to accentuate the pectorals, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. This gives the effect of an improved posture with a natural looking balance all-round,” the site says.
Funkybod director Ash Bhunnoo, who came up for the product idea in the gym, says, “We’re selling a bit of self-confidence, which is something that women have with their padded bras and body-shaping things. It’s about time guys had that, isn’t it?” It certainly is. And it appears that guys are looking for a confidence boost for the lower-halves of their bodies, as well. “We’ve received requests for leggings for men,” Bhunnoo said. “It’s in the pipeline.” Get it?
Not surprisingly, 90% of the shirts sold have been to American men, who have long been obsessed with having muscular physiques. But, Bhunnoo notes, sales to China are increasing. Some British men asked to try the garment on seemed comfortable in the shirt, but when asked on the street what he thought about the Funkybod maa (man bra? go with it), one young man said, “That’s deceiving girls. I don’t like to deceive girls.” Women don’t seem to care too much about the product, either. One woman interviewed by BBC News said, “You can look like that or not. It’s fine.”
