Marine Homecoming: Snow White Makes Little Girl’s Wish Come True

Marine Homecoming: Snow White Makes Little Girl's Wish Come True (via Babble)They say Disneyland is the place where dreams come true, and one dream really did come true for four-year-old Alyssa Brown.

When Alyssa visited Snow White’s wishing well at Disneyland, she wished for her father, Marine Lt. Scott Brown, to be home.

Alyssa and Snow White closed their eyes (no peeking!) and wished really, really hard. When they opened their eyes, Lt. Brown was there, on one knee, in front of his little girl.

That is not actually the part that made me cry.

Jennifer Brown, Alyssa’s mom, told Anaheim, California’s KTLA that her husband’s deployment to Afghanistan was really difficult for their daughter. The thing that helped get Alyssa through it was a Deployment Daddy Doll. It’s a fabric doll, with a photo of the deployed servicemember printed on it.

The family’s home video of the moment Alyssa received her Daddy Doll is where I lost it. Then I had to re-play the part where her actual daddy comes home, and then it was pretty much just ugly cry. So, you know, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
