Merida Tribute: Disney Fans Wig Out

We’ve recently returned from Walt Disney World where we attended Merida’s Royal Celebration and Coronation at Magic Kingdom. We witnessed Princess Merida being crowned as the newest official Disney Princess. This was a very regal occasion attended by America’s sweetheart ,Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas (with her mother), and Disney Channel favorite, Debby Ryan, along with thousands of Disney fans. A Scottish band dressed in kilts marched and played. All of the Princesses arrived in front of Cinderella’s Castle to welcome Merida; even Queen Elinor was there to see her daughter become the newest official Disney Princess. Merida rode up triumphantly on her noble steed, Angus. It all was quite spectacular; one of the most magical things we’ve experienced at Disney Parks.

“I am strong.

I am brave.

I am Merida.

I am a Princess.”

~ Merida

To celebrate Merida crowned as the eleventh Disney Princess at Magic Kingdom we have gathered up some of her biggest fans, Disney Social Media Moms (and their families), adorned in long red curls. Merida is most easily recognized by her fiery hair, sturdy walk , Scottish accent, and spirited personality. Many love her for being unapologetically herself. So here they are, showing their support for the brave and passionate new princess.

You can purchase Princess Merida products at Disney Store.

Full Disclosure: We were invited to attend Merida’s Royal Celebration as part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Walt Disney World offered a special discounted rate for all attendees and their families. This is a once in a lifetime experience and we are grateful to Disney for allowing us to participate. We’ll be sharing unique things seen and heard throughout the Celebration. Please keep in mind these our own personal thoughts and opinions, not those of The Walt Disney Company.
