Minnie Mouse evidently went on a very intensive diet in order to shrink down to bask in the fashion spotlight for the uber-stylish super store Barneys. First I should declare that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Minnie’s usually far more full figure, it is how we know her and love her. But if Vogue or Elle have taught us anything, it is that high-fashion loves a slim and trim figure.
This holiday season (and yes, I think it is way too early to start thinking about Christmas), Barneys Madison Avenue location will be teaming up with Walt Disney for the a holiday campaign called ‘Electric Holiday.’ Classic Disney characters like the before mentioned Minnie Mouse as well as Daisy Duck and Goofy will be re-imagined in a far thinner, and hipper, form while wearing fancy frocks from the likes of Balenciaga, Lanvin, Balmain and Dolce and Gabbana.
Barneys windows, which are always a big draw during the holiday season, will include, according to Highsnobette.com, “a three-dimensional electric light show,” as well as, “a short film consisting of Disney characters walking the runway in the latest designer pieces.”
The Disney meets designer duds extravaganza will debut on November 14th.
