Mom 2.0 Summit Tips and Tricks

By cecilyk |

If you’re as lucky as I am, you’ll be headed down to Key Biscayne near Miami, Florida for the fifth annual Mom 2.0 Summit!

After spending the first three years in Houston, Texas, the conference moved to New Orleans last year and this year is headed to (hopefully) sunny Florida to an amazing locale  – the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne. This hotel looks amazing; right on the (private!) beach, it’s hard to imagine having a bad time when enjoying this gorgeous location.

Having never been to this hotel, I can’t share with you my personal hotel tricks, so I asked co-founder Laura Mayes for some tips about the locale.

“The location/view is amazing. Right on the water. Private beach.” She says, “Two pools, a family pool and an adults only pool.” (Is it bad that I might visit the adults-only pool? Does that make me fail as a mom blogger?) “The spa is off the hook,” she adds.

The hotel also has several restaurants and clubs. “The welcome party on Thursday will be at Dune, which is a very cool spot right on the beach,” She continues. “They’re known for their sliders…and they’re fantastic. Sooo good. Cantina Beach has awesome cuban and coastal Mexican food. Fresh guacamole and margaritas, and an awesome selection of tequila. Cioppino features Tuscan food – it’s super amazing, with fancy cheese and great food. Lastly, there’s the old Havana style RUMBAR with Cuban Sandwiches and rum flights.”

The hotel website also mentions Scoop, which serves Gelato. Which I’ll be visiting.

As for the weather? Well, it looks amazing, with only a 20% chance of rain all weekend.

But I’m going to encourage you to stay inside instead of enjoying that great weather. The content and schedule this year look better than ever, and you’ll be doing yourself a serious disservice if you skip the sessions to hit the beach. Sadly, not attending sessions has become more common at conferences, and this is crazy to me. It’s easy to think you’ve already “learned it all” but the truth is you NEVER know what perfect bit of information you might hear that will change EVERYTHING.

With Mom 2.0 focusing this year on “intention,” you can bet there will be elements to the sessions you’ve never considered before. Don’t miss out.

See you in Miami!

Is this app making it difficult for me to change the categories to those I want when trying to pin. If it is I do not like this new app. There are too many inappropriate pins in these categories
