Mom Makes Bullying Daughter Wear Old Clothing as PunishmentSunny Chanel
You’ve got to give props for the originality of this form of unique and unusual punishment. A parent in Murray, Utah made their daughter wear old and dated outfits from their local thrift store for bullying one of her fellow students for how she dressed.
According to Fox News, Ally – the woman who acts as the girl Kaylee’s mother (she is in a long-term relationship with the girl’s father) – received an email from Kaylee’s school saying that the young woman had been harassing one of the students for weeks for how they dressed. “She would take her out on the playground and call her names, and tell her she was a slob and tell her she dressed like a sleaze,” Ally said. “Someone not wanting to go to school anymore based off of something that one other little person said to them. I mean, that’s huge, that’s damaging.”
That’s when Ally decided that Kaylee needed to be taught a lesson, “she really needs to know that this had such an effect on someone else’s life.” Ally went to a thrift store and spent $50 on a variety of old outfits she knew Kaylee would never want to wear. We’re talking about a muumuu, outfits from the ’80s, and clothing that looked like it could be used as costumes for a play based on Little House on the Prairie.
Kaylee wore the old, dated outfits to school and said that her fellow classmates would, “talk behind my back.” She was embarrassed and humiliated, but the unusual lesson seems to have worked. When her sister asked why she wouldn’t bully people anymore she replied, “because it’s stupid and it’s mean. It hurts them.”
Do you think a creative form of punishment like this is good or bad?
