Top 25 Travel Blogs for Families, 2012

The ideal of family travel - fun and relaxation for all - and the reality - toddler meltdowns and hotel mishaps - don't always coincide. But never fear: Babble's Top 25 Travel Blogs for Families is back, and each of these sites is packed with information on what you can do to make your family's vacation truly enjoyable. We brought back favorites from last year's list and combed through your nominations to bring fresh voices to the conversation. So whether you need to know what to pack while flying to grandma's with a toddler, how to travel the world with your family on a budget, or where to arrange a private cooking lesson in Provence with a Michelin-starred chef, we've got you covered. It's time to stop worrying, start planning, and, most importantly, get moving! (And if we missed a blog you love, nominate it here!) - Paula Sadok

Anne’s Rankings

Who: Anne Hartzell, mom of two, Seattle, WA

Why we love this site: Savvy traveler Anne Hartzell and her contributors review luxury getaways and activities for families in popular destinations such as Disney or Hawaii. The blog also reviews travel gear and includes a fun style section that recommends hip overnight bags for moms and children, in addition to the most comfortable and fashionable boots to wear on a long day of sightseeing. Hartzell recommends using social media to secure the best travel deals (“like” your favorite hotel chains on Facebook or follow them on Twitter for insider promotions). Hip Travel Mama also sponsors a yearly “Mamacation” conference, arranging speakers, spa treatments, and great shopping opportunities at the Seattle Four Seasons for moms who could use a little alone time.

Thank you Babble so much for including us–we are very honoured to have been included among such a well-traveled and well-written group. It’s amazing to see how many families are ‘doing it’ now and hopefully this list will be a good starting point for others contemplating family travel.
