As anyone raised in between the ’70s and the ’90s knows, good parenting comes in many forms. Sometimes all it needs is scripted dialogue and a well-timed laugh track.
As Mother’s Day approaches, it’s a good time not only to remember to send a card or call your real mom, but also to spend 1 minute and 52 seconds remembering the women who mommed alongside her.

It’s also a reminder that one problem with enforcing screen-time limits on my kids is that they’re not forming solid, trusting relationships with TV moms. Would I be the woman I am today if it weren’t for, say, Mrs. Huxtable?
