BlogHer '11 - No, The Floors Were Not Paved With Cool Swag

The entrance to the BlogHer Exhibition Hall

First of all, please accept my apologies for the lengthy delay between my last BlogHer Diary entry and this one. But I have a good excuse; I’ve been laid up sick in bed for the past few days doing a whole bunch of nuthin’. This is the first time I’ve sat down in front of a keyboard for more than 5 minutes in 4 days.  But I’m back, so let’s pick up where I left off, shall we?

When we were last together, I was telling you about Day 2 of my time at BlogHer, And I hadn’t finished the telling.  So consider this entry to be Part 2 of Day 2…or something like that.

One of the most impressive parts of the whole BlogHer experience was the Exhibition Hall where many dozens of brands set up incredibly impressive displays and offer information and swag to attendees who stroll the aisles.  Rather then trying to describe the scope and variety of the Exhibition Hall, I’ve put together a little photo tour to give you all a taste of what the giant expo was like for those of us walking through it.

A number of booths provided info via QR Code scans.

The photo booth from T-Mobile

was a big hit.

I spent some time working on my iPad (sorry Samsung!) and people-watching from a seat the comfy Samsung Lounge, located in the middle of the Expo Hall.

My FAVORITE of all the booths at BlogHer!

The Yahoo! Contributors’ Network Booth

One thing everyone has asked me since I returned from BlogHer is what cool swag I scored. Sadly, the answer is very little. I did manage to win a Yahoo! Style Guide (hardcover book) by tweeting a photo of the booth pictured above, but that was about it. Apparently, I just wasn’t hip to how the whole BlogHer swag bonanza happens because I didn’t really see any being offered. Maybe I didn’t know the secret handshake? Also, I think a lot of the better giveaways happened at specific private parties. But suffice it to say that the common perception that the floors of BlogHer are paved with free stuff, and that amazing, free goodies rain from the Expo ceiling was not my experience.

If you went to BlogHer last week, what was your favorite booth or display? Did you pick up some cool booty to take home? If so, what was it, and how did you acquire it? Tell us in the comments below.

Stay tuned for My BlogHer Diary Part 4….
