Need More Angry Birds? Now You Can Play On Facebook

Angry Birds slings its way onto Facebook this week.

If you weren’t getting enough slingshot practice already on your smartphone or tablet — or you don’t have a smartphone or tablet — you’re in luck. Angry Birds is now available on Facebook.  The game pitting belligerent birds against swine now joins the likes of Farmville and Words with Friends, and is sure to land on the list of top Facebook games in no time.

The developers of the Angry Birds app, Rovio, have added some new bells and whistles to the Facebook version of their wildly popular game.  In addition to the levels players already know, you can now play the 45 levels of Surf and Turf, which are exclusive to Facebook. You will also be able to see which of your friends have played and compare your scores to theirs.

USA Today adds that the Facebook version also includes, “ several power-ups such as a Sling Scope for precision lobs and Super Seeds to turn birds into giant projectiles. The power-ups are available through friends’ gifts or purchase.”

Since Angry Birds was first released in 2009, more than 12 million copies have been purchased from Apple’s App Store.  Time to whip open those laptops for the latest Facebook game craze.  Unless you’re like me and don’t plan to mention this to your kids …
