New Disney App Tells Your 'Story'Pilar Clark
That Disney loves to tell stories is no secret.
Now, they’re inviting parents – arguably the world’s next best storytellers – to join them with a new app called Story.
Released today by Disney Interactive, the free (!) app, available here for iOS devices, automatically organizes personal media into sharable storylines, which can be customized with text, four layouts and backdrop-ish themes (just one of them is Disney-themed), then saved and published via Facebook, email, blogs or on Disney’s Story.us website.
And, while Story is designed primarily for parents and families, the app allows anyone to capture photos and videos of any magical moment and assemble it all into “stories” to share.
At its simplest, Story scans your camera roll and then populates potentially significant moments from one day to inspire story ideas. Already styled as a story that can be shared immediately, each can contain up to 20 images and two 1-minute videos that can either be navigated manually, or set to auto play.
At its grandest, think digital scrapbook made simpler and much more beautiful with just a few drags and drops. I’m already addicted. And am really, really ok with that.
