NPR to Bronco Bama Girl Abigael Evans: All Things Considered, We're SorryMeredith Carroll
With the Election Day less than a week away, we’re all feeling election fatigue, but Abigael Evans is really feeling it.
The 4-year-old from Fort Collins, Colo., recently became a bit of a celebrity after a video of her talking about being really, really sick of the election went viral.
Well, the election-crazed folks over at NPR saw the video and had a message to send to poor little Abigael: We’re sorry.
According to the Los Angeles Times, NPR correspondent Mark Memmott wrote NPR.org:
On behalf of NPR and all other news outlets, we apologize to Abigael and all the many others who probably feel like her. We must confess, the campaign’s gone on long enough for us, too. Let’s just keep telling ourselves: ‘Only a few more days, only a few more days, only a few more days.’
To sweeten the deal, NPR-member-station KUNC in Fort Collins, Colo., sent Abigael an NPR Politics pin.
Although given her previously stated argument against politics, perhaps Abigael might have appreciated something like a Dora the Explorer DVD a little bit more. Just sayin’.
