If you were like me, you stayed up way past your bedtime on Tuesday night to hear President Barack Obama give his acceptance speech after winning his second term as the leader of our country. For me it was around 10:40 P.M., but for my eastern seaboard living pals, they had to stay up to 1:40. But if you are an Obama fan/admirer/or voted for him to keep his job, then staying up to hear his touching oration was worth it. One of the sweetest and cutest moments?
When he gave a shout-out to his two daughters Sasha (now 11) and Malia (now 14), girls we have watched grow up over the past four years. After thanking his wife Michelle Obama, saying that after twenty years of marriage, “I’ve never loved you more,” Obama thanked his girls. He stated that they were growing into, “strong, smart, beautiful women just like your mom.” He then added a comic note: “But I can say now — one dog is probably enough.”
And the girls, they certainly have changed over the past four years. The last time we saw them in this milieu was four years ago when they were just 7 and 10, and yes, they certainly seem to be growing up to be “strong, smart, beautiful women” just like their mom.
Did you stay up to watch the speech?
