Parents Change Diaper in Starbucks Results in Employee Calling 911Sunny Chanel
We’ve all been there. Your baby does their “business” in their diaper and it’s either a) wet b) stinky or c) totally explosive. Now, as a parent, you don’t want your child sitting their wallowing in their own filth now do you? Of course not. So you do what any parent would do, you attempt to change your child’s dirty diaper as soon as you possibly can, wherever you can. That’s just what Denver couple Ruth and Alex Burgos tried to do. But they, unlike most of us in this situation, had 911 called due to their actions. Yes, 911.
Here’s what happened. The Burgos were reportedly at a Starbucks when they had to change their 1-year-old son Thiago’s diaper. At first they went to the restroom in the cafe but there was no changing table, and really, no parent wants to change their child’s diaper on the floor of a public bathroom. So the Burgos did what they had to, they changed their son’s diaper at their seats.
“As a mother, you have to do what you have to do. Wherever you have to do it,” the mother said to 9News. “I just kind of wiped him off, cleaned him off as quickly as I could.” A barista was not happy with their diaper changing and threw a towel at them saying, “you better clean that seat.” The dad, according to the USA Today, then took his coffee and poured it on the floor saying, “you make sure you clean that up.” Things apparently got so tense that an employee called the police to rush to the scene. But no arrests were made and Starbucks has since apologized to the Burgo family.
Do you think it’s okay to change your baby’s diaper in a public place, especially in a place like a cafe?
