Pauly Shore Takes on AdoptionSunny Chanel
What’s the tag line of the film/TV project Adopted? “First there was Angelina, then Madonna and Now Pauly!” The Pauly in question is none other than D list actor comedian Pauly Shore.
Originally the mockumenraty/comedy that follows Pauly’s quest to adopt a child in Africa was released as a feature film in July. But Sasha Baron Cohen’s Bruno – which came out in June – apparently stole Pauly’s tongue in cheek thunder with a similar narrative. Rumors of a lawsuit arose ‘cos the timing just happened to be incredibly bad. But now Pauly has found a home for his Adopted project.
Variety is reporting that Showtime will air it as a “non scripted” show which will feature Pauly Shore as he “practices fatherhood” by taking “orphans” on a variety of day trips. It’s politically incorrect, “innapropriate at times”, and totally following in the Sasha Baron Cohen school of shock and awe comedy. But is exploiting a topic such as orphaned children living in a poverty sticken enviroments funny?
