Pay Tribute to 9/11 Victims With Cool Facebook App

9/11 MemorialWould you like to honor a life lost in the 9/11 attacks? There’s a simple way to do it today and this weekend, thanks to a clever partnership between the 9/11 Memorial and Facebook.

Facebook developer Involver has created an app that will allow you to dedicate your Facebook status update to a randomly selected 9/11 victim.

Just visit the 9/11 Memorial on Facebook.  Click on the button dedicating a status update to a victim, and you will be assigned a name.

I actually did it more than once, and in a small way, helped to remember the lives of David Martin Graifman and Kenneth George Grouzalis.  It made me want to learn more about the people behind those names, so I did a Google search to learn that Graifman, aged 40, was a vice president at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods and an avid Mets fan, and Grouzalis , aged 56, was a property manager with the Port Authority and loved riding his Harley-Davidson.
