You may not know the name Pete Souza but you know his work. As his job as the Chief Official White House Photographer, he is responsible for chronicling the days of Obama’s administration, life and family. These photos are used by the media, newspapers and have been available to all via the While House Flickr account. And now there is a whole new way to get a peek into the inner workings of the life of the presidency; this week Pete Souza has joined Istagram.
And you know, it’s pretty awesome. On his first day on Instagram he shared a variety of photos from a visit to Knox College in Galesburg, IL. The photos are fascinating in their simplicity, from an image of the Presidential seal, to the Presidential napkins, to candid shots of President Obama. This is another wonderful view of what is going on in the White House which coexists with Michelle Obama’s recently launched Instagram account. Personally, I love to see this inside look at our first family. It gives a sense of familiarity and intimacy, a slice of life of what goes on in Washington and beyond.
