Carl Warner is a British photographer who worked for years in advertising, but whose career took a more artistic turn at the turn of this century. Since then, he’s been creating amazing art photography, like this series of “Bodyscapes,” below. Though some of these photos look as though they were taken of multiple bodies stacked on top of each other, Warner told me over email that “Each image is created from one body shot at different angles and then composited together in Photoshop.” He adds on his website that these are “An alternative portrait of a human being whose body becomes a landscape of themselves and plays on the sense of space in which we dwell.” He says, “The external view of ourselves therefore becomes a more abstract and perhaps more intimate reflection of our inner being when viewed as a landscape or given a sense of place.” I love that! John Mayer is right: your body IS a wonderland!
