"Photos of You" On Instagram Now Public

instagramYou may have noticed a few weeks ago that Instagram began allowing you to tag photos with other user’s names and others to tag photos with you in them as well.

Instagram rolled the feature out fully today, meaning that any photos you’ve been tagged in are now visible to anyone that can see your profile. Here’s how Instagram announced it in their blog.

We wanted to take a moment to remind you that—if you haven’t turned it on already—your Photos of You section on Instagram will become visible today to those who can currently see your profile.

Remember, you can easily adjust your settings so nothing appears on your profile until you approve it.

It’s easy to hide the photos of you if you prefer. Instagram provides simple instructions, but here they are.

1.  To hide a photo of you from your profile
2.  Tap on the photo    Tap your name
3.  Tap Hide from My Profile

You can add a photo back to your profile by going to it and repeating steps 1-2 and then tapping Show on My Profile.

You can also remove the tag with your name, much like Facebook, although Instagram makes it easier.

To remove yourself from a photo someone added of you:

  1. Tap on the photo
  2. Tap your name
  3. Tap More Options > Remove Me from Photo

Good luck!
