1. It Makes You Seem Desperate
You’re not desperate. You are fabulous. You are a brilliant blogger and getting more amazing by the second as you absorb these pearls of wisdom we’re sharing with you on Mom Crunch. You don’t need a Top Twenty Bloggers Who Don’t Suck button on your sidebar to prove your awesomeness.
2. It Annoys Your Readers and Followers
You know when your preschooler says, “Mom? Mom? Mom? Mom? Mom” until you finally snap back, “WHAT!?!” That’s the feeling you can create in your readers and followers with daily (I’ve seen hourly) tweets and DM’s asking for votes. Really.
3. It Isn’t Great Content
Remember when we talked about providing fresh, engaging content for your blog readers? “Vote for me” isn’t fresh OR engaging. It’s whining and begging. Not remarkable.
So consider very carefully whether securing the Best Blogger Buddy award is worth irritating your friends and spamming your followers.
